TONIGHT'S MATCHUP: The seventh of 19 meetings, the third of nine here. Richmond has won five of six and three straight. The clubs have split two meetings in Richmond. Adirondack was the first club to beat Richmond this season. J.J. Wrobel has nine points vs. the IceHawks. Hugo Belanger has 10 vs. Richmond. Two of the six meetings have gone to shootouts. Richmond is in a first place tie in the Eastern Conference with Flint, but the ‘Dogs have the best winning percentage in the UHL and two games in hand on Flint. Adirondack is sixth in the Eastern Conference, one point behind Port Huron.

LAST ACTION: The RiverDogs lost 5-0 at Elmira Sunday. Richmond was out-shot 38-17. The ‘Dogs were blanked by Peter Aubry for the second time this season. Adirondack lost 4-2 at home to Elmira Wednesday. The IceHawks grabbed a 2-0 first period lead but Elmira exploded for three third period goals. Both Adirondack goals came on the power play.

'DOG BITES: Richmond activated Paul Johnson and Jeremy Wray from IR today. They re-signed defenseman David Dartsch. Jeff Ewasko, who was acquired in a trade from Adirondack for defenseman Brad Cook, will make his ‘Dogs debut tonight. Richmond released rookie defenseman Gary Baronick and waived Jason Payne. Derek Schutz is on 7-Day IR. The ‘Dogs open a five game homestand tonight. After playing 13 of their first 19 games on the road, they will play 15 of their next 17 here. Richmond is second in the league in shots on goal. They are third in goals and PIM. Richmond is 10-0 when scoring first, 8-0 in one-goal games, and 5-0 in shootouts. Kevin St. Jacques is second in the UHL in assists. He and Jay Murphy are tied for 11th in points. Jeff Ewasko is third in the league in PIM.

ICEHAWKS NOTES: The IceHawks are winless in their last four games. Hugo Belanger is second in the UHL in points and tied for second in assists. Sylvain Cloutier and James Desmarais are tied for 13th in the league in points. Both IceHawks goalies, Scott Dickie and Lance Leslie are in the UHL's top 10 in goals against average (Dickie is sixth, Leslie is seventh). Trevor Senn leads the league in penalty minutes. Adirondack is second in the UHL in penalty minutes and third in penalty killing. The IceHawks have scored five goals over their four game winless streak. Adirondack plays eight of their next nine games on the road. The IceHawks are 4-2-1 on the road and 3-9-3 at home.

NEXT UP: The RiverDogs and IceHawks face off again tomorrow night at 7:35. It is a Family Four Pack Night (four tickets, four hot dogs, four sodas, and four fling-a-pucks for $44). There will also be a free post-game skate following the game with RiverDogs players.

AROUND THE UHL: There were no games in the UHL last night. Tonight there are five other games: Missouri is at Columbus, Flint visits Elmira, Ft. Wayne hosts Rockford, Quad City is at Kalamazoo, and Muskegon visits Port Huron.
