Charleston RiverDogs News Release
ASHEVILLE, N.C. - The RiverDogs and Tourists were rained out for the second consecutive night on Tuesday, canceling the final two meetings of the season between the Southern Division rivals. As the pair of games were the final two scheduled between the teams, they will not be made up.
Charleston (36-36, 3-1) and Asheville (30-43, 3-1) finish out the brief season series having each won four games apiece. The Yankees and Rockies affiliates only played one contest at McCormick Field, an 11-inning victory, 6-5, by the homestanding Tourists on Sunday.
The RiverDogs next return to the Lowcountry for an abbreviated three-game homestand against the Rome Braves, starting on Wednesday night at 7:05 p.m. It will be Charleston's first meeting with Atlanta's Class A affiliate since Opening Week in April when they took two out of three on the road in Rome. Monday's game can be tuned into on "The Big Talker" WTMA 1250 AM and streaming live at riverdogs.com and the RiverDogs' TuneIn radio station.
It's a "Way Back Wednesday" at The Joe presented by Kirkman Broadcasting as the RiverDogs celebrate their 25th season with a guest appearance by outfielder Ben Jones, the club's all-time home runs and RBI leader. The Dogs will throw it back to 1994 season with their old school teal and purple uniforms and special $6 general admission tickets.
RiverDogs single-game tickets, including options to the Riley Park Club, are now available for the 2018 campaign, the club's 25th season as the RiverDogs and their "175th season in dog years." Ticket information can be secured by contacting the box office at (843) 577-DOGS (3647) or online at www.riverdogs.com/tickets.
