
Crawdads Beat GreenJackets in Extras

Augusta GreenJackets News Release
Hickory, NC: The Augusta GreenJackets, South Atlantic League affiliate of San Francisco Giants, lost 5-4 in 11 innings to the Hickory Crawdads on Tuesday afternoon.
The Crawdads took an early lead by scoring one run in the bottom of the third inning. Then in the top of the fourth inning, Logan Baldwin would knock in Jacob Gonzalez to tie the ballgame at one. Hickory would then answer with two runs in the bottom of the inning to take the lead back. They would add another in the bottom of the fifth inning to take a 4-1 lead.
In the sixth inning, the GreenJackets would start to make a comeback. A sacrifice fly from Gonzalez would score Manuel Geraldo from third base to get Augusta within one. Then with Ryan Kirby on at second base after a double, Baldwin knocked him in with an RBI single.
The score would stay 4-3 until the top of the ninth inning. With Orlando Garcia on at second base, Aaron Bond would double off the right field wall to score Garcia to tie the ballgame.
The game would head into extra innings, where both teams would fail to score in the 10th. Augusta couldn't convert with a runner on at second in the top of the 11th inning, leaving the door open for Hickory. The Crawdads would take advantage as Pedro Gonzalez singled to right field to score the winning run from third.
Augusta was swept in the three game series with Hickory. The GreenJackets now return home for a three game series with the Greenville Drive. First pitch tomorrow is set for 7:05 pm.
Tomorrow the GreenJackets will be welcoming the Greenville Drive to SRP Park. That night will be having First Responders Night. On the 28th, will have Tap Takeover Night and Thirsty Thursday. Friday the 29th will have Art in the Park as we celebrate.
On the 30th, the GreenJackets will welcome the Columbia Fireflires to town for a four game series. On Saturday June 30th, will have James Brown and Sharron Jones appreciation night. July 1st will have Hot Cars/ Hot Rods Car & Motor Show. On the 2nd, Mr./Ms. Most American Pageant/Celebration will be held at SRP Park. To wrap up the homestand, will have an Independence Day bash followed by a Fireworks Extravaganza.
