River Otters Shut Down Komets 1-0; Tapp Gets Fourth Shutout
November 13, 2004 - International Hockey League 2 (IHL 2)
Missouri River Otters News Release
Backstopped by Jason Tapp's second consecutive shutout, and his league leading fourth overall, the Missouri River Otters defeated the Fort Wayne Komets 1-0 Saturday night.
After a scoreless first period, the Otters took the lead on a great offensive play. Barrie Moore played the puck into the Komets zone and gave a great pass to Lars Pettersen, who beat Komets goaltender Tyler Masters with a top-shelf wrist shot. It was Pettersen's fifth goal of the game.
Tapp kept the Komets off the board in the third period, and he ended up with 27 saves for his fourth blanking of the season. The attendance was a 3,031, a season high for the Otters.
The River Otters will head to Rockford and play the IceHogs tomorrow at the Metrocentre. The Puck drops at 3:05, and all of the action can be heard on KSLQ 104.5 and the River Otters B2 webcast, located at www.riverotters.com.
