TONIGHT'S MATCHUP: The The third of 17 meetings and the first of nine here. ‘Dogs are 1-1 vs. the Trashers. Five ‘Dogs have two points vs. Danbury. Four Trashers have two points vs. Richmond. The clubs have combined for three shorthanded goals but just one power play goal in two games. Richmond is in a third place tie in the Eastern Division with Adirondack, one point behind second place Danbury.

LAST ACTION: The ‘Dogs edged Motor City 3-2 here last night. Mark Turner scored the game winning goal with just 1:45 to play. The ‘Dogs took leads of 1-0 and 2-1 before finally putting the Mechanics away. Ryan Prentice and Jonathan Gagnon also scored for Richmond. The ‘Dogs killed off three third period Motor City power plays. Danbury held off Elmira 3-2 on the road last night. The Trashers took a 2-0 first period lead. The Jackals rallied with two third period goals. The Jackals out-shot the Trashers 37-27. Scott Stirling made 35 saves.

'DOG BITES: This is game two of a four game homestand. Trevor Senn serves the second of a two game UHL suspension tonight. Derek Schutz came out of retirement to re-join the ‘Dogs last night. Francis Belanger's five game scoring streak ended last night. Jeff Sanger snapped a four game loosing streak in the win over Motor City. Ryan McIntosh has won his first three starts. He has yet to play at home. The ‘Dogs have allowed power play goals in six straight games. Richmond is 0 for their last 24 on the power play. Ryan McIntosh is eighth in the UHL in goals against average. David Brosseau is tied for second in the league in shots on goal.

TRASHERS NOTES: Danbury's Brad Wingfield and Rumun Ndur are one-two in the UHL in penalty minutes. Former RiverDog Sean Keane has joined the Trashers. Gerry Hickey, who was in Richmond's opening night line-up last season, is also with the Trashers. Four members of the Trashers lineup have NHL experience: Brent Gretzky, Mario Larocque, Rumun Ndur, and Blake Bellefeuille. The Trashers are second in the UHL in penalty killing and lead the league in shorthanded goals. Danbury is second in the UHL in penalty minutes.

AROUND THE UHL: Last night Muskegon beat Kansas City 4-1, Kalamazoo beat Missouri 1-0 in a shootout, Adirondack beat Flint 3-1, Quad City beat Port Huron 2-1, Ft. Wayne beat Rockford 4-3 in a shootout, Danbury beat Elmira 3-2, and the ‘Dogs beat Motor City 3-2. Tonight Motor City is at Elmira, Muskegon is at Flint, Adirondack is at Kalamazoo, Ft. Wayne is at Missouri, Kansas City is at Quad City, and Port Huron is at Rockford.

NEXT UP: Richmond is home next Friday (Adirondack) and Saturday (Elmira) November 19 and 20. Game time both nights is 7:35. Next Friday and Saturday are Scout Nights and the ‘Dogs will be giving away Thundersticks both nights compliments of Fas mart.
