March 13, 2005 - International Hockey League 2 (IHL 2)
Missouri River Otters News Release

Frank Littlejohn and Mark Odut both scored two goals as the Missouri River Otters shellacked the Port Huron Beacons 5-2 Sunday afternoon in front of 4,342 fans at the Family Arena.

Port Huron scored the game's first goal when Jeff Goldie picked up a loose puck in the slot and fired it behind Jason Tapp. The River Otters came back strong with two straight goals, both scored by Odut. On the first, Odut picked up the rebound of a Lars Pettersen shot and flipped it home, and on the second he made a great move and rifled a wrister top-shelf.

The River Otters kept pouring it on in the second period, as Littlejohn scored his 29th and 30th goals of the season. The first came on a terrific deflection on a Brian Heckendorn shot, with Jamal Mayers getting his first point with the River Otters. On the second goal, Littlejohn made a spin-move in the face-off circle and zinged a snap-shot behind Daniel Berthiaume.

Missouri extended the lead in the third period on a power-play goal. Mat Snesrud set up Mike Dombkiewicz for a one-timer from the right point, and Dombkiewicz blistered the puck behind Stu Dunn for his 11th goal of the season. Jason Tapp made 26 saves for his 20th victory of the season, while Berthiaume suffered the loss.

The River Otters will host the IceHogs Wednesday, March 16 at the Family Arena. The puck drops at 7:05 CST, and all the action can be heard on KSLQ 104.5 and the River Otters B2 Webcast, which can be found at the River Otters website!
