
River Cats and Sutter Health to Present Baseball 101 For Women

WEST SACRAMENTO, Calif. -- The Sacramento River Cats will partner with Sutter Health to present "The Diamond is a Girl's Best Friend: Baseball 101 for Women" on Saturday (June 21) from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Raley Field.
All women 18 and older (16 with participating parent or guardian) are invited to participate in the camp. Tickets are available for $35 at the Raley Field Ticket Office, on the internet at www.tickets.com and at all Tickets.com outlets (select Raley's & Bel Air stores). Fans can also purchase tickets by phone at 916-766-2277, 530-766-2277 or 800-225-2277 (outside the Sacramento Region). All proceeds will benefit the Children's Center at Sutter Medical Center in Sacramento.
"This is a great opportunity for women to learn more about the game of baseball in a relaxed, fun environment," said River Cats President & Chief Operating Officer Alan Ledford. "Women participating in the event will learn everything from strategies to fielding a ground ball, and they will be instructed by River Cats players and coaches."
Participants in Baseball 101 for Women will learn directly from members of the River Cats team. Expected to participate are (subject to change): outfielders Jason Grabowski, Chris Prieto and Mike Lockwood; shortstop Jose Flores; pitchers Mike Wood, Roy Smith, Mike Kusiewicz and Chad Harville; catcher Mike Rose; and manager Tony DeFrancesco.
All women participating in the camp will receive lunch, a gift bag and a t-shirt compliments of the River Cats and Sutter Health. Space is limited, and the camp will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis.
