River Bandits Win 7-0, Allow Two Hits to the Loons

MIDLAND, Mich. - Quad Cities River Bandits (30-35) kept the Great Lakes Loons (34-32) to two hits. Both by Jake Gelof in a 7-0 River Bandits win on a 73-degree cloudy Thursday night at Dow Diamond. The Loons finished the first half with a winning record of 34-32.
- Quad Cities starter Hunter Owen went seven innings, a career-high allowing one-hit and three baserunners.
- Peter Heubeck, Great Lakes starter finished five scoreless innings. His scoreless inning streak is 11 innings.
- The River Bandits had three multi-run innings. A Jared Dickey RBI single and a two-run home run from Carson Roccaforte in the sixth. Two walks along with a single and error provided two in the seventh. Two hits and two runs capped the ninth for Quad Cities.
- Michael Martinez threw a scoreless eighth inning. Martinez has a 3.50 ERA in 18 innings.
- The only other three Loons baserunners were reached on base on balls. Kyle Nevin, Nelson Quiroz, and Jake Vogel all walked. Quiroz and Vogel extended on-base streaks, Quiroz to seven and Vogel to six.
Rounding Things Out
The Loons, with a 34-32 record, completed their third straight first half with a winning record. Starting tomorrow the standings reset for the final 66 games of the season.

Great Lakes is in search of their first win of the series versus Quad Cities tomorrow Friday, June 21st. The first pitch is at 7:05 pm. Friday is a Copa de la Diversión Night.
