
Rio Grande Valley Vipers Acquire Guard Jacobi Boykins

EDINBURG, Texas - The Rio Grande Valley Vipers, NBA G League Affiliate of the Houston Rockets, announced today that they have acquired guard Jacobi Boykins.
Boykins (6-6, 175) went undrafted in the 2018 NBA Draft making him an Unrestricted Free Agent. Boykins played all four years at Louisiana Tech. As a senior, Boykins started in all 33 games where he averaged 14.7 points, 4.9 boards and 1.5 assists in 31 minutes of play. In his third season with the Tech, Boykins averaged 14.7 points, 4.7 rebounds, 2.2 assists, and 2 steals in 30 minutes of competition. In addition, he averaged 4.8 from the field made on 46% shooting including 2.8 3-pointers made on 40.8% shooting.
Prior to this 2018-19 season, Boykins competed in the 2018 NBA Summer League with Orlando Magic. He competed in two games, starting in one, where Boykins averaged 8 points and 2 rebounds in 7.4 minutes of play. Boykins averaged 2-2.5 3-pointers made on 80% shooting.
