
Rincon Arrives in NWA; Hernandez to DL

Springdale, AR - The Naturals add a clean-up hitter as they look for a sweep tonight.
The Kansas City Royals have announced a pair of transactions affecting the team's roster before the Naturals looks for a three-game sweep of the first-place Corpus Christi Hooks tonight at Arvest Ballpark. OF Edinson Rincon has been activated off of the 7-Day Disabled List. In a corresponding move, OF Roman Hernandez has been placed on the 7-Day Disabled List retroactive to the August 13th.
The 23 year-old Rincon injured his knee in Spring Training with the San Diego Padres. The Royals claimed the former San Antonio Missions Infielder/Outfielder on June 7th when he was assigned to the Naturals Disabled List. Rincon made his season debut on July 31st for the Arizona League Royals and was 17-for-37 (.459) with 11 RBI in 11 rehab games playing mostly both corner outfield positions.
Recently touted by Baseball America as having the best defensive arm in the San Diego Organization, Rincon played 134 games last season in his first year for Class AA-San Antonio and hit .291 with 10 homeruns and 48 RBI playing mostly Third Base and Left Field for the Missions. Rincon began his professional career as a sixteen year-old, and over six minor league seasons has a slash line of .285/.355/.422 with 40 homeruns 249 RBI and 116 Doubles in 484 games.
Hernandez last played on August 10 in San Antonio. In 84 games with the Naturals this season, the 25 year-old Cuban-native has hit .265 with a homerun and 23 RBI also playing mostly left and right field.
Rincon will wear uniform number 12 and is in tonight's lineup batting clean-up and playing left field.
The Naturals roster currently sits at the Texas League limit of 25 players.
