Wheeling Nailers News Release
WHEELING, WV- The Wheeling Nailers, proud ECHL affiliate of the Pittsburgh Penguins and Montreal Canadiens, are excited to announce that Riley Brace has been named to the starting line-up for the ECHL All-Stars at the 2015 CCM/ECHL All-Star Classic presented by Visit Orlando.
Brace, 22, has gotten off to a tremendous start to the 2014-15 season, and is currently a member of the AHL's Worcester Sharks, with whom he has registered one goal and three points in four games. Prior to that, Riley appeared in 22 games with the Nailers, collecting at least one point in 15 games, while accumulating multiple points in nine contests. The Ottawa, ON native opened the campaign with a hat trick and a four-point night in a 6-3 victory over the Reading Royals, on his way to racking up nine goals, 19 assists, and 28 points in a Wheeling uniform.
Brace will be joined at forward in the starting line-up by Toledo's Tyler Barnes and Allen's Jack Combs. The ECHL All-Stars starting defense will consist of Colorado's Collin Bowman and Fort Wayne's James Martin, while Ontario's Joe Cannata will get the nod between the pipes.
Riley Brace becomes the 11th Wheeling player to be named to the starting line-up for an ECHL All-Star Game, and the first since Elgin Reid in 2009, when the game was held in Reading.
The starting lineup was determined in voting by ECHL coaches, team captains, media relations directors, broadcasters, and media members.
The 2015 CCM/ECHL All-Star Classic presented by Visit Orlando will take place on January 21st at Amway Center, the home of the Orlando Solar Bears.
The Nailers will have a three-game homestand from January 9th-11th.
Reading comes to town on the 9th for Faith & Family Night, which will also be a Flat Screen Friday, courtesy of The Highlands, as well as the Law Firm of Bordas and Bordas. In addition, an Eric Hartzell poster will be given to the first 2,000 fans in attendance, thanks to RSQP Print & Design. As part of Faith & Family Night, the Chrisagis Brothers will perform in a post game concert.
Elmira is the opposition on the 10th, as the Nailers will be holding a Princess Party from 6-7. Only 100 tickets are available for the party. That game will also be the annual Girl Scout Night.
Finally, Indy pays a visit on the 11th for a Family Funday with $5 kids tickets, a post game skate with the team, and another Oglebay Good Zoo Day.
