Atlanta Gladiators News Release

DULUTH, Ga. - The Gladiators announced that forward Greg Carey has been reassigned to the team by their AHL affiliate, the Portland Pirates, on Wednesday.

This is Carey's second trip to the Gladiators this season, with his first assignment lasting for two weeks in early November - from November 1st to the 15th. Carey, 24, made his short time in Gwinnett worth it, scoring eight points (five goals, three assists) in just five games played.

The Hamilton, Ontario native scored four goals, including a natural hat trick, in the Gladiators' 4-2 victory against the South Carolina Stingrays on November 9th. He became the fourth Gladiator in team history to achieve either feat, and was the second to do both in the same game.

Carey has played in 23 games for the Pirates so far this season, and has tallied a goal and four assists. He made his professional debut in early 2014 with the Pirates, playing in 13 games after wrapping up his four-year career at St. Lawrence University. While with the Saints, Carey averaged over a point per game - 185 points (84g, 101a) in 152 games played. In his junior and senior seasons, he also was a top-three finalist for the Hobey Baker Award, given to the best player in college hockey.

Carey will rejoin the Gladiators in time for their next home game on Thursday, January 8th. The Gladiators will host the South Carolina Stingrays at The Arena at Gwinnett Center at 7:05 p.m. for Student Night.

For tickets and schedule information, visit the official team website at www.gwinnettgladiators.com or call the main office line at 770-497-5100.

The Gladiators are members of the ECHL, the nation's premier "AA" hockey league, and are affiliated with the Arizona Coyotes of the NHL. All home games are played at the 11,355-seat Arena at Gwinnett Center, located just off I-85 on Sugarloaf Parkway in Duluth - where parking is always free.
