LOVELAND, Colo. -The Colorado Eagles (19-13-0-0) overpowered the Stockton Thunder (13-22-1-0), 4-2, in the Eagles only Tuesday home game at the Budweiser Events Center.

Stockton forward Peter Sivak netted the first goal of the game, 12:36 into the first period, on a 5-on-3 power play off a rebound on the side of the net. The Eagles fired back as forward Greg Gardner, assisted by fellow forwards Nathan Moon and Brock Nixon, beat Stockton's netminder Kent Simpson, to even the score to 1-1, 16:14 into the first period.

At the 10:22 mark of the second stanza, Darryl Bootland gave the Eagles the 2-1 edge with a goal from the top of the circle. Less than two minutes later, Bootland scored his second goal of the game on a short breakaway and gave the Eagles the 3-1 advantage over the Thunder.

Just 45 seconds into the third frame, Stockton took advantage of their second power play of the night with a goal by defenseman Adam Phillips to put up a 3-2 score. The Eagles regained their two-point lead with an empty-net goal by forward Trent Daavettila with less than a minute remaining in the game.

Eagles goalie Doug Carr had a solid outing, stopping 26 of Stockton's 28 shots to help secure the Eagles 4-2 victory.
