
Riders Pick up Four More in CFL Canadian Draft

With their second round selection (15th overall), the Riders selected OL Matthew O'Donnell (6'10 - 325 lbs) from Queen's University. He was one of two CIS players to suit up in the prestigious East-West Shrine Game in January at the Florida Citrus Bowl in Orlando. In 2010 he was the recipient of the J.P. Metras award for OUA lineman of the year and claimed first team honours as a CIS All-Canadian. O'Donnell, a two time All-Canadian (2009, 2010) has dressed in every game for the Gaels since the 2007 season. He was also a pivotal member of the 2009 Vanier Cup Champion Queen's Gaels which saw an offensive line that allowed the fourth fewest sacks in the country (9).
In their first pick of round four - 27th overall, the Green and White selected offensive lineman Alexander Krausnick-Groh (6'3 - 290 lbs) from Calgary. The 22-year-old has spent the last four seasons with the Dinos and the last two as the starting centre. In 2009 and 2010, Krausnick-Groh played in the Vanier Cup and was named a Canada West All-Star.
With the 30th overall pick in the fourth round the Riders selected kicker Christopher Milo (5'11 - 205 lbs) from Laval. The 23-year-old spent four seasons with the Rouge et Or, Christopher holds the provincial record for the most career points (385), which places him 3rd in Canada. He ranks 1st in Quebec for field goals (69), which once again puts him in 3rd place nationally. In 2008, he set the Canadian record for the most field goals in a single season (25). He was a Quebec All-Star Team member for each of his university seasons, Christopher also earned himself a spot on the CIS First All-Canadian Team in 2008 and 2010 as well as the Second All-Canadian Team in 2009. In 2006 and 2007, before entering university, Christopher participated in the Montreal Alouettes training camp. He was a member of the junior national team three times in his career.
In their final pick of the day the Riders selected running back Kyle Exume (5'10 - 198 lbs)from Bishop's in the sixth round - 40th overall. Exume, a native of Brooklin, Ont. has played four seasons at Bishop's and has shown his greatest strengths on special teams with 29.5 special teams tackles and 3 blocked kicks since 2008.
