CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS (July 16, 2016) - The Frisco RoughRiders, the Double-A affiliate of the Texas Rangers, plated four runs on four straight hits in the eighth inning, as they came back to defeat the Corpus Christi Hooks 5-4 in the series finale Saturday night at Whataburger Field.

Trailing 3-1 in the top of the eighth, the RoughRiders (47-44 overall, 9-13 second half) exploded for four runs on four hits against Aaron West (5-1). Preston Beck hit an RBI double to make it 3-2, Joe Jackson's two-run double put the Riders ahead, and Isiah Kiner-Falefa added insurance with an RBI single.

John Fasola retired all six batters he faced to preserve Frisco's lead and earn his second save. Corpus Christi put two men on base against David Perez before Fasola entered and limited the damage. One run scored on an RBI groundout by Chase McDonald to make it 5-4, but Fasola struck out Garrett Stubbs to leave a runner stranded on second base. He worked a perfect ninth inning, striking out Derek Fisher for the final out.

Two RoughRiders had noteworthy nights at the plate. Ronald Guzman extended his hit streak to 15 games with a single in his third at-bat. He is now just two games shy of Ryan Cordell's team-high 17-game streak, which lasted from April 12 to May 1. Andy Ibanez went 3-for-5 and scored Frisco's first run in the sixth. It was the fourth multi-hit game for Ibanez in his last six games.

Reed Garrett pitched five-plus innings in his return to the RoughRiders. He gave up just three hits but allowed three runs, with two coming on a double by Nolan Fontana in the bottom of the third.

The Riders begin a four-game series against the San Antonio Missions at Dr Pepper Ballpark Sunday at 6:05 p.m. Frisco sends righty Luis Ortiz (1-4, 4.06 ERA) to the mound. Live coverage can be heard on the Frisco RoughRiders Radio Network, on the TuneIn Radio App, and the MiLB First Pitch App with the Dr Pepper Pregame Show at 5:30 p.m.

Christmas comes early this year, and holiday spirit will be in the air Sunday night at Dr Pepper Ballpark. The first 1,500 fans to enter the ballpark will receive RoughRiders ugly sweater t-shirts. There will also be a post-game fireworks show, and fans can watch the display from the field. Tickets are available online at RidersBaseball.com, via email at info@ridersbaseball.com, over the phone at (972) 731-9200, or in-person at the RoughRiders box office.
