'Riders can't hold on against the Hooks

The Corpus Christi Hooks rallied for three runs in the top of the eighth inning off of Frisco reliever Adalberto Flores, beating the 'Riders 4-2 on Saturday night.

Hooks left fielder J.D. Martinez roped an offering from Flores to deep right field, scoring two runs and breaking a 2-2 tie. Designated hitter Freddy Parejo tied the game with an RBI single. All of the Hooks runs came with two outs.

The only two Frisco runs came on a two-run home run by third baseman Andy Jenkins.

Martin Perez (3-5, 5.23) started the game for Frisco and went 4.0 innings, allowing one run on five hits. He walked one and struck out five. Perez was forced out of the game by a 36-minute power outage at Dr Pepper Ballpark in the top of the fifth inning. Flores (2-4, 4.03) took the loss as he allowed two runs on two hits over 0.2 innings.

Frisco (53-37) will finish a four-game series with Corpus Christi on Sunday night. RHP Michael Schlact (0-0, 2.25) will be on the hill, with first pitch coming at 6:05 PM.
