AMARILLO, Texas - The Riders couldn't climb out of an early hole, falling 7-4 to Amarillo in the third game of a four-game series against the Sod Poodles Saturday.

SYNOPSIS

* The Riders fell behind 6-0 after three innings.

* Leody Taveras doubled in the top of the fifth to extend his on-base streak to 16 games.

* A two-run double from Yonny Hernandez then cut the Amarillo lead to two in the fifth.

KEY RIDERS PERFORMERS

* Yonny Hernandez: 1-for-3, 2B, R, 2 RBI, BB

* Michael De Leon: 2-for-4, 2B, RBI

* Brendon Davis: 2-for-2, R

NEWS AND NOTES

* Taveras's 16-game on-base streak is the longest of any Riders player this season.
