
Riders add to offensive coaching staff

Saskatchewan Roughrider Head Coach Kent Austin announced today Mike Gibson and Paul LaPolice have been added to the Roughriders' coaching staff. Gibson has been named assistant head coach and will handle the offensive line, while LaPolice will be an offensive assistant/receivers coach.
Gibson has spent the last three seasons in Winnipeg where he served as the team's offensive coordinator and offensive line coach. Gibson has coached in all three areas, offence, defence, and special teams and has served as an offensive coordinator for eight years. He has been involved in six major NCAA college programs over the past 25 years including; Cornell, Boston University, Rice, Temple, Colgate, and Rutgers.
LaPolice has spent the last seven seasons coaching in the CFL. Last year, LaPolice handled the receivers in Toronto. He spent the 2004 and 2005 seasons in Hamilton where he coached the receivers. From 2002 to 2004, he served as offensive coordinator with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. His CFL career started in 2000 with the Toronto Argoanuts where he spent two seasons coaching the quarterbacks, running backs, and receivers. From 1993 to 2000, LaPolice served in various coaching roles in the U.S. college ranks.
