Saskatchewan Roughriders News Release

The Saskatchewan Roughriders have acquired international receiver Maurice Price and a sixth round selection (52nd overall) in the 2016 CFL Draft from the Ottawa Redblacks. In exchange, the Riders have sent their sixth round (45th overall) and seventh round (54th overall) selections to Ottawa.

"We had an opportunity to acquire a veteran receiver with a high level of speed that can add a game breaking element to our team," noted Riders vice president of football operations, general manager and head coach Chris Jones. "He is an intelligent and versatile player that has succeeded playing different roles in multiple offences."

Price (6'1 - 205) will be entering his fifth CFL season after signing with Calgary ahead of the 2012 season. Through three years with the Stampeders, Price collected 109 catches for 1,737 yards and 12 touchdowns in 29 regular season games.

Last year, the 30-year-old Price was acquired by the Ottawa Redblacks in a January trade. He went on to start all 18 regular season games, the East Final and Grey Cup at wide receiver.

Through his first four seasons Price has played in three Grey Cups, winning with the Stampeders in 2014.
