
DB Derrius Brooks Signs with Riders

The Saskatchewan Roughriders have announced international defensive back Derrius Brooks has signed with the team. As per club policy, terms of the contract were not released.
Brooks (5'10 - 192) will join the Riders after spending the 2012 and 2013 CFL seasons with the Calgary Stampeders. The Western Kentucky product signed with the New Orleans Saints in January, 2014 where attended training camp and played four preseason games. Brooks then signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers practice squad in September, where he remained for the season.
With the Stampeders, the 27-year-old Columbus, Georgia native collected 52 defensive tackles, nine special teams tackles, and five interceptions in 20 regular season games. He also had 16 defensive tackles in three playoff games while adding one tackle in the 2012 Grey Cup.
