THREE THINGS TO KNOW

Max Friberg tucked the puck upstairs just 1:19 into the extra frame to beat the Utica Comets at the Utica Memorial Arena in Utica, NY. Jeremy Gregoire scored his fourth of the season in the first period from Mark MacMillian, but the Comets tied it up halfway through the third with a tally from Connor Bancks. IceCaps netminder Zach Fucale stopped 30 of the 31 shots he faced in a second star performance.

Eddie Pasquale kicked out 36 shots but the St. John's IceCaps fell to the Syracuse Crunch Saturday night at the Onondaga County War Memorial Arena. Gabriel Dumont spotted the IceCaps a 1-0 lead in the first (from Brett Lernout and Josiah Didier) but the Crunch responded with three straight goals - including two from Ryan Martindale - to seal the win. Brandon McNally drew the IceCaps to within one at 7:58 of the third (from Nikita Scherbak and Ryan Johnston) but St. John's was unable to pot the equalizer.

Charles Hudon scored twice but the St. John's IceCaps were thumped 6-2 by the Syracuse Crunch Sunday night at the Onondaga County War Memorial Arena in Syracuse, New York. Hudon opened scoring just 1:23 into the first period but the Crunch rattled off five straight goals, including four in the second period, to beat the IceCaps for the second straight night.
