TODAY'S GAME: The Flying Squirrels play the finale of a six-game series against the Bowie Baysox, Double-A affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles. This series is the third this year between the Flying Squirrels and the Baysox. They opened the season with a three-game series at Prince George's Stadium from April 8-10, with Richmond winning two. TICKET PUNCHED: The Flying Squirrels clinched the Eastern League Southwest Division First-Half title with a win on Sunday afternoon paired with a loss by the Akron RubberDucks against the Harrisburg Senators. After playing a full-season system last year, they returned to the split-season format this year. In 2014, they eliminated the RubberDucks in four games before being swept in the championship series by the Binghamton Mets.
THE FLYING SQUIRRELS snapped a four-game losing streak with Saturday's win. Last week, they split a six-game series at home against the Sea Dogs. The Flying Squirrels have won seven series, lost four and split two this year. Richmond hitters lead the league with 825 strikeouts and rank second with 97 homers.
