TONIGHT'S GAME: The fourth of a four game series and the eighth of eight meetings, the fourth of four here. The Braves are 2-5 vs. Pawtucket, 1-2 at home. The Red Sox had won the previous five meetings. The Braves were 4-0 vs. the Red Sox at home last season. Game four of a four game homestand. Richmond is in a stretch of 15 of 19 games on the road. Richmond is in a stretch of 36 straight games vs. North Division clubs that runs through June 27. The Braves are 14-29 vs. the North, 6-16 at home. The Braves are third in the South, 14 games out of first. The Red Sox are second in the North, 8.5 games back of first. Richmond is 325-323 all-time vs. the Red Sox. The Braves ended a three game losing streak and a six game home losing streak yesterday.

YESTERDAY'S GAME: The Braves edged the Red Sox 2-1 at The Diamond Sunday afternoon. The Braves rallied from an early deficit to snap their six game home losing streak. The Sox took a 1-0 lead in the first on an RBI single by Shawn Wooten. That held up until the fourth when Bill McCarthy smacked a two-run homer to put the Braves ahead to stay. Adam Stern had three hits for Pawtucket. Sam McConnell pitched five innings to earn the win. The Richmond bullpen worked four scoreless innings. Jason Childers earned his club leading sixth save. Chris Narveson took the loss.

THE ROSTER: The Braves have released RHP Chris Mears. Andy Marte has been optioned to Richmond. The active roster now stands at 24 (12 pitchers, two catchers, five infielders, and five outfielders with two players on the DL). The Braves have made 76 roster moves this season and lost 184 man-games to the disabled list. Nine Braves have earned big league call-ups this season and four are currently with Atlanta (Roman Colon, Kyle Davies, Kelly Johnson, and John Foster). The other five big league call-ups were Marte, Frank Brooks, Matt Childers, Seth Greisinger, and Brayan Pena. Five current Braves have seen action in the big leagues this season. Nine Braves have been placed on the DL this season.

CRUNCHY NUMBERS: Esix Snead is tied for the league lead in stolen bases with 27. Snead stole two bases in a game yesterday for the fifth time this season. Recent R-Braves acquisition Kerry Robinson still leads the PCL in steals with 26. John Barnes is 26-68 (.382) since returning from Double-A. His 10 game hitting streak, a club season high, ended yesterday. Scott Pratt's seven game hitting streak ended yesterday. Brayan Pena has hits in three straight games (4-12 .333). James Jurries is five for his last 12. Jason Childers has worked five straight scoreless outings with two saves since returning from the DL. Matt Childers has worked five straight scoreless outings. Over the last 11 games Braves starting pitchers have allowed 17 earned runs in 57.2 innings (2.67 ERA). The Braves have used seven different starting pitchers in those 11 games. Michael Rosamond is 5 for his last 13 (.385). The Braves have 80 hits in their last eight games. The Braves are last in the IL in batting average, runs, and walks issued. Seth Greisinger is sixth in the league in ERA. Braves pitchers have allowed only one home run in the last 10 games. Richmond is in a stretch of 39 straight games vs. American League affiliates. Braves pitchers will not have to hit again in a game until July 9. The Braves are 16-32 vs. American League affiliates. Jason Bourgeois is nine for his last 21 (.429). Bill McCarthy's fourth inning home run snapped an 0-14 slump. Tony Pena is three for his last six. Kerry Robinson has hits in three straight games (4-12 .333).
