RICHMOND, VA- The Pawtucket Red Sox beat the Richmond Braves 7-2 Monday at The Diamond. The Red Sox blew the game open in the middle innings for the third time in the four game series.

Richmond took a 1-0 lead in the first on an RBI double by Brayan Pena. That lead held up until the fifth when the Red Sox sent 10 men to the plate and scored four runs. An Adam Stern bunt and a throwing error brought Luis Figueroa home to tie the game. Kelly Shoppach doubled two runs home to put the Sox ahead to stay. Roberto Petagine drew a bases loaded walk to knock in a run. Andy Marte, in his first game back from Atlanta, homered in the sixth to cut the Sox lead to 4-2. Stern singled a run home in the eighth to make it 5-2. Pawtucket added two more runs in the ninth on an RBI single by Mike Lockwood and a Figueroa double.
