TONIGHT'S GAME: The second of a four game series and the second of eight meetings with the Red Sox, the second of four at McCoy Stadium. Richmond is 0-1. Game six of an eight game road trip. Richmond is 2-3. The Braves were 2-6 vs. the Red Sox last season, 1-3 at McCoy Stadium. This is the 26th of 48 games vs. North Division opponents, Richmond is 10-15 vs. the North Division. The 10th of 24 road games vs. North Division opponents (Richmond is 1-8). The Braves are 325-325 all- time vs. Pawtucket. The Braves are third in the South, 17.5 and a half games behind first place Charlotte. The Red Sox are fifth in the North, 8.5 games off the lead.

LAST NIGHT'S GAME: The Red Sox beat the Braves 2-1 in 10 innings Friday at McCoy Stadium. The Sox scored a run in the 10th after the Braves scored in the ninth to force extra-innings. The two clubs battled through six scoreless innings before Pawtucket finally broke through in the seventh on an RBI double by Enrique Wilson. The Braves tied the game in the ninth on a sacrifice fly by David Kelton. Trent Durrington's bases loaded infield single in the 10th produced the winning run for Pawtucket. Jermaine Van Buren picked up the win. Manny Acosta took the loss. Scott Thorman and Carlos Mendez had two hits each for Richmond. Dustin Pedroia and Jeff Bailey had two hits each for the PawSox

MASH UNIT: The Braves injury parade continues. James Jurries is day to day after he was struck with a foul ball in batting practice. Jurries has missed 39 games due to injury this season after he hit .429 in major league spring straining. 3B West Timmons has been out since May 16 due to a fractured thumb. He was in the top 10 in the league in hitting (.316) and in the top five in on base percentage at the time of his injury. Bill McCarthy returned to the lineup this week after missing seven games with a sports hernia. Martin Prado (who was off to a .429 start in Triple-A) is on the DL with a hamstring pull. Anthony Lerew is on the DL with a back sprain. RHP Blaine Boyer and OF Kelly Johnson are out for the year following surgery. RHP Joey Devine is out with a back injury and currently assigned to the Danville roster. The Braves have made 61 roster moves this season.

OF STREAKS AND MEN: Scott Thorman has hits in 11 straight games (17-42 .405). That streak is the club's longest of the season. Carlos Mendez has three straight multiple hit games (7-13 .538). Bill McCarthy has hits in 10 straight starts. Martin Prado has hits in five straight games (9-21 .429). RHP Phil Stockman has worked his last 18 innings in nine appearances without allowing a run while permitting just four hits. The Braves played errorless baseball last night after committing seven errors in the previous two games.

LEADING THE WAY: Scott Thorman is fifth in the league in hitting (.316). He is second in home runs (14) and tied for fourth in RBI (39). He has the IL lead in hits (72). Thorman is third in slugging percentage (.566). He is tied for third in the IL in extra base hits with 27. The Braves are second in the IL in stolen base percentage behind Charlotte. They have swiped 46 and have been caught 15 times (75.4%). Their 15 caught stealings is the fewest in the IL. The Braves four wins when trailing after eight innings is tops in the International League. The Braves seven shutouts is tied for third in the IL. The Braves are fourth in fielding percentage.

WORKING OVERTIME: Last night's game was the Braves 11th extra inning contest of the season. They are second in the IL in that category, one behind Rochester. The Braves are 4-7 in extra-inning games. They have already equaled last season's total number of extra inning games.
