Bulls baffeled by lefty, lose 7-1

Durham NC - Norfolk Tides LHP Evan MacLane got 26 of the 27 outs against the Bulls on Saturday night to lead the Tides to a 7-1 victory Saturday night at the Durham Bulls Athletic Park. The Bulls managed just one extra-base hit, and made five errors to allow Norfolk to even the series at one apiece.

MacLane (6-0) went eight and two-thirds innings, allowing one run on four hits and five walks while striking out five to pick up the win for the Tides. RHP Brian Stokes (3-3) took the loss for the Bulls, going seven innings while allowing four runs (three earned) off five hits and two walks, while striking out three. Chad Orvella allowed three unearned runs in the eighth inning.

B.J. Upton made three errors in the top of the eighth inning, resulting in three unearned runs for the Tides. Fernando Cortez and Kevin Cash also made errors, giving the Bulls five on the night.

Jeff Keppinger, Chase Lambin, and Victor Diaz went 2-4 for the tides, and Diaz hit his fourth home run on the season in the seventh inning.
