Albuquerque Isotopes News Release

Right-handed pitcher David Hale will make a Major League rehab start with the Albuquerque Isotopes tonight. Catcher Wilin Rosario was also added to the roster, and Roger Bernadina was placed on the disabled list with a left wrist sprain, retroactive to April 22.

Hale is rehabbing left oblique strain suffered during Spring Training. He appeared in 47 games during the last two seasons in the Majors, claiming a 5-5 record with a 3.02 ERA. He has 58 strikeouts against only 40 walks. Hale made one previous rehab start with High-A Modesto Nuts on April 20, tossing 2.1 innings of two-hit ball. He allowed two unearned runs to score while striking out three and walking only one.

Rosario joins the Isotopes after playing 10 games with the Colorado Rockies this season. He's hitting .357 (5-for-14) with one run scored, three doubles, one homer and two RBI. In five Major League seasons, he is hitting .275 with 72 double, 66 homers and 214 RBI.

Bernadina initially injured his left wrist on April 18 at Reno. In 11 games this season, Bernadina is batting .188 with six runs scored, two doubles and three RBI.

The Isotopes open a four-game series at Las Vegas tonight at 8:05 p.m. MT. Hale will face 51s right-hander Matthew Bowman (0-3, 10.93).
