Salt Lake Bees News Release

SALT LAKE CITY (April 25, 2015) - Following eight games in the friendly confines of Smith's Ballpark, the Salt Lake Bees are back on the road and will face El Paso for four games starting tonight at 7:05 p.m. All games will be broadcast on The Zone Sports Network by "The Voice of the Bees," Steve Klauke.

After getting off to a shaky 1-10 start to the season, the Bees rebounded to win four straight to improve to 5-10. The Bees secured their first series victory of 2015 with three wins over Fresno, while the fourth game of the series was suspended for rain and will be finished in June. The Bees have found their stride recently, hitting .306 as a team through the last five games, while Salt Lake pitchers have combined for a 2.44 ERA.

Andrew Heaney will get the ball in game one of the series against the Chihuahuas and will be followed by Alex Sanabia, Adam Wilk and Nick Tropeano. Heaney is the only two-game winner in the Bees current rotation, though all four starters during the series have recorded a quality start this season.

Last year, the Bees were 6-10 against the Chihuahuas and hit .307 through the season series. Ryan Wheeler had 14 hits against El Paso in a Salt Lake uniform.

Salt Lake completed several transactions through the last series including sending Cam Bedrosian and Grant Green to Anaheim. Efren Navarro and Nick Tropeano joined the Bees from the big club, while Kurt Spomer made his way to Salt Lake from Arkansas. Charlie Cutler was assigned to the Travelers and Scott Snodgress was put on the seven day disabled list with left elbow inflammation. The organization also claimed Gary Brown off of waivers from the Cardinals and assigned the outfielder to Salt Lake.

The El Paso offense is lead by Austin Hedges who is hitting .349 with five doubles, two home runs and 13 RBIs. The Chihuahuas are collectively hitting .285 with a 4.41 ERA.

The Bees return home on May 4 for and will see Tacoma and Reno for four games each. The homestand will feature a Bees sock giveaway on May 8th with Pack the Park Pink night on May 9th followed by fireworks postgame. For more information or tickets, visit slbees.com.
