Fresno Grizzlies News Release

SALT LAKE CITY - The Fresno Grizzlies (8-7) and Salt Lake Bees (5-10) will have to wait until June for their series finale at Smith's Ballpark Friday night to conclude. With two outs and a runner on first in the bottom of the 10th, the umpiring crew called for the tarp and delayed the game as a steady rain began to pick up in a 3-3 tie. After a 30-minute period, it was determined the game would be suspended. Despite the circumstances, Fresno moves into sole possession of first place in the Pacific Northern Division due to Sacramento (8-8) and Reno (8-8) both suffering losses Friday night.

Preston Tucker and Jon Singleton homered early on in the evening to help build a 3-1 Fresno lead, but back-to-back homers by Alfredo Marte and Roger Kieschnick notched the game at three.

Official stats from this game will not be reflected until it becomes official in June.

Fresno will remain overnight in Salt Lake and fly home to Fresno in the morning, where they'll begin a four-game home series against the Reno Aces Saturday night at Chukchansi Park at 7:05 p.m. Tickets are on sale for all four games (April 25-28) online at FresnoGrizzlies.com and at the Chukchansi Park Box Office. The box office will open at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 25th and Sunday, April 26th.
