Iowa Cubs News Release

Colorado Springs, Colo. (April 25, 2015) - The Chicago Cubs Saturday have assigned right-hander Dallas Beeler to the Iowa Cubs on a major league rehab assignment. Beeler has joined the team for their four-game series in Colorado Springs, and will make his first start of the season on Saturday.

Beeler was selected by Chicago in the 41st round of the 2010 June draft out of Oral Roberts University. He made two starts for the Cubs in 2014, including his major league debut on June 28 in a start against Washington. He went 0-2 with a 3.27 ERA (4ER/11.0IP) in two spot starts for Chicago.

Beeler missed all of major league Spring Training with right shoulder inflammation. The right-hander made 20 starts for Iowa last season, going 9-6 with a 3.40 ERA and 82 strikeouts in 124.1 innings.

Beeler will be on the mound tonight as the I-Cubs begin a four-game series with the Colorado Springs Sky Sox, new Triple-A affiliate of the Milwaukee Brewers. First pitch is set for 7:05 p.m. CT. The game can be heard live on AM 940, 104.5 FM, and live streamed at Iowacubs.com. The On-Deck Circle Pre-game Show will begin 6:40 p.m. CT.
