The York Revolution enjoyed a one-sided victory on Sunday, winning their regular season road finale 11-1 over the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs in front of 4,996 fans at Regency Furniture Stadium. Claiming a series victory with back-to-back wins, the Revs climb within 3.5 games of first place and return home for a seven-game homestand to close the regular season beginning Monday night at 6:30 p.m. against the Long Island Ducks.

The Revs opened the scoring in the top of the second. Brandon Boggs led things off with his league-leading 66th walk before Bryan Pounds was hit by a pitch. After both advanced on a groundout, Luis De La Cruz (3-for-5) clobbered the first pitch he saw over the fence in left-center for a line drive three-run homer, spotting York a 3-0 lead. It was his fifth home run of the season and third against Southern Maryland.

Two innings later, the Revs tied their biggest inning of the season, scoring seven times in the fourth to bust it wide open. Telvin Nash got things started with a leadoff walk before De La Cruz doubled down the right field line. Nick Ferdinand smoked a two-run single to left, and James Simmons followed by bombing a two-run homer to deep left-center as the lead suddenly ballooned to 7-0. With one out, Mikey Reynolds reached on an infield single and Andres Perez blooped a base hit to start another rally. Boggs followed with an RBI ground single to right, chasing starter Jake Hale (9-3) who was charged with ten runs (nine earned) on eight hits in 3.1 innings, making his first start since July 22, returning from a finger injury. Nash capped the rally with a two-out RBI single to right-center off reliever Brian Grening, plating Perez while Boggs also scored on an error when center fielder Reggie Abercrombie overran the ball.

Grening settled things down, working the final 5.2 innings for Southern Maryland, but allowed one more run in the sixth on a Pounds RBI single up the middle, plating Perez who led off the inning with a double down the left field line. Every York starter had at least one hit, while eight of the nine scored at least one run.

Revs starter Cody Scarpetta (3-5, 2-1) earned his second straight win, allowing just an unearned run on three hits over six innings. He walked four and struck out eight, including whiffing the side against the middle of the order in the fourth on 10 consecutive strikes to end the inning, which concluded with back-to-back three-pitch strikeouts of Jovan Rosa and Craig Maddox. Southern Maryland's only run scored on a two-out passed ball in the bottom of the sixth after Scarpetta nearly escaped a bases loaded, no-out jam.

Beau Vaughan, Stephen Penney, and Matt Neil all fired scoreless innings out of the bullpen to finish off the victory.
