FOXBOROUGH, Mass. - The New England Revolution's first collection in the 2014 Charitable Drive series is set for Sunday when Revs fans are asked to donate pet supplies at the team's 5 p.m. match against the New York Red Bulls at Gillette Stadium.
Donations will benefit MSPCA-Angell, and fans who make a donation on Sunday will receive an autographed Revolution player card.
Donations will be accepted starting at 3:30 p.m., and end at approximately 5:15 p.m. Collection bins will be set up near the Gillette Stadium ProShop in NRG Plaza, as well as in the Bank of America Plaza.
Items that MSCPA-Angell has indicated a need for include blankets, towels, sheets, soft bedding, hand sanitizer, bleach, dishwashing soap and paper towels.
Dog-specific items include dog beds, durable toys and training treats.
Cat-specific needs include toys, dry and canned cat food, cat beds, carriers and scratchers.
For small mammals, there is a need for wooden houses or toys and highback litter boxes.
A complete list of MSPC-Angell's desired items is available at the organization's web site.
The MSPCA-Angell is the second-oldest humane society in the U.S., and is a national and international leader in animal protection and veterinary medicine. The center provides care for thousands of animals each year, including medical treatment.
