New England Revolution News Release
HARRISON, N.J. - The New England Revolution (9-9-11; 38 pts.; 8th in East) will visit the New York Red Bulls (13-9-8; 47 pts.; 3rd in East) at Red Bull Arena on Saturday night. The match kicks off at 6:00 p.m. ET with Brad Feldman and Charlie Davies calling the action on WSBK-TV38 and myRITV. Saturday's match also airs locally on the radio via 98.5 The Sports Hub and 1260 AM Nossa Radio in Portuguese.
New England enters Week 30 of the MLS season one point behind FC Cincinnati for the seventh and final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference, and only two points below sixth-place Columbus. The Revolution returned to the win column on Saturday with a 3-0 dismissal of New York City FC, the club's ninth clean sheet of the 2022 campaign. Defender Jon Bell opened his 2022 account with the game's first goal and midfielder Tommy McNamara padded New England's lead in the second half. McNamara has now reached the scoresheet in five of his last seven games played. Homegrown Player Noel Buck, a midfielder from Arlington, Mass., scored his first MLS goal in his second consecutive start. Meanwhile, DeJuan Jones pulled level with fellow outside back Brandon Bye with his sixth assist of the season.
With two straight shutouts, the Revolution head into New Jersey riding a 255-minute streak without a conceding a goal. Through only 16 starts, goalkeeper Djordje Petrović has now posted seven shutouts and earned MLS Team of the Week honors six times. In front of the MLS newcomer, 10-year veteran Andrew Farrell will reach a major milestone as he is due to appear in his 300th MLS regular season game, all with New England, making him the first Revolution player to reach the mark.
Sporting Director and Head Coach Bruce Arena is also one win away from a significant benchmark. Arena's next victory will make him the first MLS coach to achieve 250 regular season victories. Arena, who coached the Red Bulls in 2006 and 2007, owns a 14-11-5 career record against his former club. New York won the most recent encounter, 1-0, on April 2 in Foxborough after the Revolution swept the 2021 season series, 3-0-0. New England has been victorious in three of its four trips to Red Bull Arena since the start of 2020, with one each against New York, NYCFC and Montreal.
