Etihad Player of the Month: Gabriel Pereira Secures August Award
September 9, 2022 - Major League Soccer (MLS)
New York City FC News Release
New York City Football Club is delighted to confirm forward Gabriel Pereira has claimed the Etihad Player of the Month award for August.
The talented Brazilian only joined NYCFC this year from powerhouse Corinthians but has taken to life in the Big Apple well, with August being arguably his strongest in Bronx Blue.
The month began with a deflected goal against Columbus Crew. He followed that up with an intelligent assist for Thiago Andrade in the 3-2 defeat to Inter Miami CF on the road. Saving the best for last, Pereira unleashed a ferocious strike against Chicago Fire to open the scoring and send NYCFC on their way to a 2-0 victory.
Utilizing his blend of pace, skill, and dynamism, Pereira is a worthy winner of the award, and the Club would like to congratulate him on this achievement.
