York Revolution News Release

(York, Pa.): In the seventh season of Revolution baseball in 2013, you can still take yourself out to the ballgame and root for the home team. But expect a little more than just peanuts and Cracker Jacks. (Or if you're a Yorker, a wide array of Martin's brand munchies.)

The York Revolution has announced their new concession and hospitality offerings for the season, with an increased York County and eastern Pennsylvania flavor on new food and drink options.

While every minor league team likes to feature their local delicacies, the Revs now have most of them beat by adding a beer that is brewed literally across the street from the ballpark at Liquid Hero Brewery. The local brew has taken off like a rocket since its introduction two years ago, and will now join other local brews from Mudhook Brewery, brewed in York's Central Market in the Sovereign Bank Stadium lineup.

"It's not true that we built a pipeline under North Street," commented Revolution President & General Manager Eric Menzer, but it is true that we're thrilled to be able to support another local business. The home of the Revolution joins a list of 14 other York-area watering holes and eateries which feature Liquid Hero. Another addition, while not quite as local, is beers from Yards Brewing Company in Philadelphia which will also be available at the ballpark in 2013.

For potentially chilly April and May games, coffee fans will be anxious to warm up with New Grounds Coffee, another local company which will be offered in the stadium for the first time. Located on West Market Street in York, New Grounds will also offer frozen coffee drinks once the weather warms up. This will be available on the first base side, next to another local favorite, The Pretzel Twist. Last season, when The Pretzel Twist debuted at Sovereign Bank Stadium, the response was incredible. As a result of that demand, The Pretzel Twist has doubled their capacity so fans may return to their seats twice as quickly with the popular twisted snack.

Those new vendors aren't the only new food features for 2013. The number-one selling single item at the Revs' home is Turkey Hill ice cream. Beginning in 2013, buying that frozen treat will get more convenient as the portable ice cream stands located throughout the stadium are no longer cash-only. Thanks to an investment in new wireless systems, debit, credit and even gift cards will be accepted at every ice cream portable. Turkey Hill ice cream will also go great with Taste of Heaven Kettle Corn, which will also be a first time offering at Revolution games in 2013. Also new - although maybe not pairing as well with ice cream, is a new nacho portable expanding the Revolution's variety of offerings of that ballpark standard.

Of course, the Revs haven't forgotten about the classic favorites either; you can still get your ballpark frank on either side of the stadium. The Revolution have partnered with Kessler's Nittany Lion €žÂ¢ Franks, the official frank of Penn State. They have held that distinction for over 50 years and will now be served at Sovereign Bank Stadium as well as Beaver Stadium.

Finally, Archie's Deli - introduced to the 3rd base side side in 2012, is being upgraded to speed up service and accommodate new offerings, including the debut of a shrimp basket.

Hungry yet? The 2013 season begins on Opening Night, April 18 at Sovereign Bank Stadium when the Revolution hosts the Bridgeport Bluefish at 6:30 p.m. Full-season, partial-season and individual tickets are on sale now at YorkRevolution.com, (717) 801-HITS, and in-person at the Apple Chevrolet Ticket Office.
