Camden Riversharks News Release

CAMDEN, N.J. The Camden Riversharks have announced the signing of four players for the 2013 season.

Salomon Manriquez, Johnny Drennen, Ari Ronick and Jeremy Barnes have signed to play with the Riversharks squad for the upcoming season.

Manriquez, a catcher who spent most of his 12-year career with the Montreal Expos and New York Mets organizations, joins the Riversharks after spending part of the 2012 season with the York Revolution. The Riversharks will be the 16th organization that he will be a member of since beginning play as a professional. In addition to his professional experience, Manriquez also played for the Spain national team in the 2013 World Baseball Classic.

Drennen, an outfielder entering his ninth season, signs with the Riversharks after spending last season with the Somerset Patriots. Before the 2012 season, Drennen had been with the Cleveland Indians organization since his rookie year in 2005. Spending time at all outfield positions during his career, Drennen has recorded a .984 fielding average to this point.

Pitcher Ari Ronick has also signed with the Riversharks for 2013. He is the first lefthander to ink a deal with the team for the upcoming season. Ronick began his career in 2008 and played with the San Francisco Giants organization through 2012.

Barnes is entering his fifth season after spending the first four years with the Philadelphia Phillies organization as an infielder. At only 25 years old, Barnes will be the youngest player that Camden has signed thus far.

"We are starting to see a good balance of veterans and developing players in our clubhouse for the 2013 season," said Adam Lorber, the General Manager of the Camden Riversharks. "I am excited about the potential that our growing roster has for the upcoming season."
