New England Revolution News Release
FOXBOROUGH, Mass. - The New England Revolution today released its 15th anniversary logo, which the team will use as a secondary mark throughout the 2010 season, the team's 15th season of play.
The shield's outside perimeter has an industrial metallic appearance, including rivets and bolts around the edge. The Revolution's traditional flag logo is centered between the years "1996" and "2010" on the horizontal bar at the top of the crest. Inside the shield, "15 Seasons" is written in large white lettering with grey accents, while red and white stripes of the American flag are furled diagonally across the bottom of the shield.
"We are anxiously anticipating the celebration of our 15th anniversary next year, and we wanted to create an image to commemorate the season," Revolution Chief Operating Officer Brian Bilello said. "We believe our 15th anniversary logo not only celebrates the team's history, but also conveys the strength of our supporters and the New England region as a whole.
"This is our first real addition or change to any of our standard logos, and we're excited to unveil it to our fans," Bilello added.
The 15th anniversary shield will be used to promote the 2010 season as the 2009 season winds to a close, and then will be prominently featured during the 2010 campaign. The Revolution is planning a variety of events and activities to celebrate the anniversary and incorporate fan memories of the team's first 15 seasons. Further details about the team's plans will be announced in the future.
