New England Revolution News Release

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. - The New England Revolution (1-4-1; 4 pts.) will host Charlotte FC (3-4-0; 9 pts.) on Saturday night at Gillette Stadium. The Revolution's second-ever meeting with the MLS expansion club kicks off at 7:30 p.m. ET on WSBK-TV38, myRITV, 98.5 The Sports Hub, and 1260 AM Nossa Radio in Portuguese.

New England enters Saturday's match aiming to snap a four-game losing streak, following last Saturday's 3-2 loss to Inter Miami CF in Fort Lauderdale. Midfielder Carles Gil added his team-best third goal from the penalty spot, while forward Justin Rennicks opened his MLS account in his second consecutive start. Rennicks, a Homegrown Player from South Hamilton, Mass., has appeared in three straight matches dating back to the club's first encounter with Charlotte FC, a 3-1 loss on March 19. Defender DeJuan Jones and midfielder Arnór Traustason registered assists on Rennicks' tally.

Gil, who is due to make his 75th MLS regular season appearance on Saturday, remains in top form through the first six matches of the 2022 season. The Revolution captain and 2021 MLS MVP ranks among the league leaders in several offensive categories including chances created (3rd), shot-creating actions (3rd), and progressive passes (2nd). Gil will have one of his favorite targets leading the line as Adam Buksa returns to action after serving a one-game red card suspension.

Charlotte FC, the league's newest club, ranks fifth in the Eastern Conference. Charlotte has won three of its last four games, though the newcomers are still in search of their first away point with an 0-3-0 road mark thus far. Charlotte forward Karol Świderski, a teammate of Adam Buksa on the World Cup-bound Poland National Team, leads Charlotte's attack with four goals, including two against New England in their first meeting.
