FOXBOROUGH, Mass. - The New England Revolution returned to league play tonight after a three-week, league-wide World Cup break, but suffered a 3-1 loss at home to the Philadelphia Union.

Saer Sene scored his first goal of the season minutes after coming on as a second-half substitute, but the Union's Sebastien Le Toux scored two goals and Danny Cruz added another as the Union picked up the win.

The Revs have now lost three straight league contests after winning five straight and going unbeaten in seven.

Brad Knighton got the start in goal for New England (7-6-2, 23 pts.), while Philadelphia (4-7-6, 18 pts.) claimed the season series against the Revs for the fourth time in five seasons.
