Reno Aces News Release

TACOMA, Wash. - The Reno Aces compiled just four hits in its 7-3 loss to the Tacoma Rainiers on Sunday afternoon, snapping their five-game winning streak.

Seth Beer reached base safely in his fourth-straight game after walking in the second inning.

Camden Duzenack swiped his first base of the season and first since Aug. 19, 2019, before scoring one of the Aces' three runs on the afternoon.

Edgar Arredondo tossed a near-perfect 1.2 innings of relief, allowing just one walk and forcing four flyouts in his outing.

After a scoreless opening frame, the Aces threatened in the second inning, putting runners on second and third following a pair of fielder's choices and a walk before Tacoma prevented Reno from coming around to score.

For the first time in the series, the Rainiers opened the scoring with an RBI infield single to take a 1-0 advantage after two innings of play.

Tacoma's edge was short-lived as the Aces tied the game at one in the third on a Jake McCarthy sacrifice fly after Duzenack singled, stole second and advanced to third on an error.

Mariners' No. 2 prospect Jarred Kelenic reclaimed the lead for the Rainiers, 2-1, in the bottom of the third on a solo home run to right. After Tacoma's Donovan Walton singled in the ensuing at-bat, Aces' catcher Jose Herrera registered his first caught stealing after throwing out the home team's runner trying to swipe second.

Following a blank fourth inning, the Rainiers increased its edge to three, 4-1, on a sacrifice fly and an RBI single to left in the bottom of the fifth.

Tacoma went on to put three runs on the board in the sixth to take a 7-1 lead.

Both teams were held off the board until the ninth inning as the Aces tagged the Rainiers for two runs. After Lopes was hit by a pitch, Juniel Querecuto singled to right and Herrera walked to load the bases with one out, Duzenack delivered an RBI single to left and slashed the team's deficit to five, 7-2. Jamie Ritchie drove in the team's third and final run of the game on a hard grounder back to the pitcher, bringing Querecuto in to score, 7-3.

Reno returns to action on Monday against the Rainiers, with the first pitch slated for 7:05 p.m. PT. Monday's contest can be heard on renoaces.com or locally on KPLY 630 AM with Zack Bayrouty on the call.,006
