TACOMA, Wash. - Five Aces registered multiple hits in the team's 8-3 win over Tacoma to increase its winning streak to five on Saturday evening at Cheney Stadium.

Stuart Fairchild continued to rake at the dish, smacking his fourth home run in as many games en route to a 2-for-4 performance with two runs scored and an RBI.

Jose Herrera recorded his first single in Triple-A with a base knock in the top of the second before driving in his first run in the third.

Jamie Ritchie, Henry Ramos and Camden Duzenack each registered two hits against the Rainiers, combining for five RBIs on the night.

Kevin McCanna made his 2021 debut, allowing just one run on one hit in two innings of work. In the seven innings following McCanna's outing, Reno's relievers combined to allow just two runs on four hits and struck out nine.

Reno jumped out to an early 1-0 advantage in the opening frame. After Ben DeLuzio worked a leadoff walk and stole second, Ritchie smacked a two-out RBI single to center, bringing the Aces' centerfielder into score from second and lifting the visiting club to a one-run lead.

Fairchild extended his hitting streak to four in the top of the second, taking the Rainers' Robert Dugger deep for a solo home run and bumping the Aces' lead to two, 2-0.

Tacoma's Eric Filia cut Reno's edge in half, 2-1, with a leadoff solo homer to right in the bottom of the second.

In the top of the third, the Aces put a four-spot on the board to take a 6-1 advantage. Ildemaro Vargas slapped a single to right before being brought around to score on a throwing error during Seth Beer's double in the ensuing at-bat. Two batters later, Henry Ramos drilled a two-run shot to right-center to give Reno a four-run edge, 5-1. Following a Christian Lopes walk and a base knock by Fairchild, Herrera lined a single through the right side to knock in Lopes from second and take a five-run lead.

After a scoreless fourth, the Aces scored two more runs in the fifth following a Ramos single and a walk to Fairchild. After Herrera moved both runners up one base, Camden Duzenack smacked a broken-bat, two-run single to left, propelling Reno to an 8-1 edge.

Both teams were held off the board in the sixth and seventh innings before Donovan Walton hit a leadoff home run in the bottom of the eight to slash Tacoma's deficit to six, 8-2. The Rainiers tacked on one more tally on a sacrifice fly to cut the Aces' lead to five, 8-3.

Brandyn Sittinger came on in the ninth and shut the door with a perfect inning of work with one strikeout.

Reno returns to action on Independence Day against the Rainiers, with the first pitch slated for 12:35 p.m. PT. Sunday's contest can be heard on renoaces.com or locally on KPLY 630 AM with Zack Bayrouty on the call.
