From the Notes
By the Numbers: The Aces set a season-high in runs (17) and hits (23) in last night's win. The last time the Aces put up 17 runs in a game was August 11, 2014 vs. Sacramento. That same date was also the last time an Aces team put up 23 hits in a game. It's the fifth time in franchise history the 23 hits mark has been eclipsed. 25 hits in the franchise high set June 24, 2014 vs. Colorado Springs.
Drury Gets 5 Again: With five hits last night, Brandon Drury joined A.J. Pollock as the only players in Aces history to have multiple five-hit games. Drury's last five-hit game came on July 29, 2015 against Fresno. Both of Pollock's five-hit games came in 2012 against Colorado Springs. The first was April 6 in Reno and the second was on July 26 at Aces Ballpark. The five-hit mark has been accomplished 13 times in team history.
4x4: For the second consecutive game, Mike Freeman collected four hits. It marks the third time in team history a player has had back-to-back games of at least four hits. The first time was in June of 2011 when Collin Cowgill had five hits against Salt Lake on June 7, then four hits against Colorado Springs on June 9. The other time was last year when Danny Dorn had four hits against Sacramento on both July 6 and 7.
O'Brien is Back: After a lenghty slump in the month of June and into early July, Peter O'Brien has turned it on since July 21. In his last 24 games, O'Brien is hitting .352 (31-for-88) with 24 RBI, 19 runs scored, 6 home runs, 5 triples and 3 doubles. His 1.117 OPS during that span is first among all players in Triple-A.
