Hudson Valley Renegades News Release

On what was a historic day for both the sport of baseball and some Hudson Valley Renegades staff members, there was still baseball to be played. In that aforementioned game, the Hudson Valley Renegades came out victorious over the Brooklyn Cyclones 5-3.

The win extends the Renegades win streak to five games. On the opposite end of the spectrum, the Cyclones continue to spiral, losing their sixth straight.

While the Renegades outhit the Cyclones by 10, the theme of the night was leaving runners on base, as they left nine on. Despite their 15 hits, they were able to muster only five runs, with four of them coming in the top of the 6th due to RBI singles from Andres Chaparro and Pablo Olivares along with a RBI double in the left center gap from Kyle MacDonald.

The Renegades pitching continued to stay hot, as the combination of Anderson Munoz, Charlie Ruegger and Carlos Espinal held the Cyclones to only five hits. Munoz was especially spectacular, as he struck out nine and walked none. He got the win while Espinal notched his first save of the season.

On August 5th, 1921, the first radio broadcast of a baseball game was welcomed into the world. To celebrate the anniversary, the radio voice of the Renegades, Rob Adams, traveled to Maimonides Park in Brooklyn to conduct the first Renegades away broadcast since 2019.

Per the State of New York, the Renegades are now open at 100% capacity. Tickets continue to be a tremendous value starting as low as $6. Visit HVRenegades.com for ticket information and so much more.
