Hudson Valley Renegades News Release
A five-run sixth inning by the Brooklyn Cyclones led them to a 9-6 Friday night victory over the Hudson Valley Renegades at Maimonides Park.
Hudson Valley built up a 3-0 lead in the first inning on the strength of RBIs from Austin Wells, James Nelson, and Jake Sanford.
Brooklyn got one back in the bottom of the first but the Renegades answered with two in the second on triples by Wells and Chad Bell.
The Renegades couldn't hold the 5-1 lead. The Cyclones got two in the third and one in the fourth before the Gades threw one more on the board in the top of the sixth to increase the lead to 6-4. But Brooklyn answered with five in the bottom of the frame.
New Renegade Matt Sauer took the loss (0-1). He allowed eight runs -- only three earned -- in 5.1 innings. Michel Otanez picked up the win for the Cyclones while Willy Tavares picked up his first save.
The teams meet again on Saturday in Brooklyn.
Per the State of New York, the Renegades are now open at 100% capacity. Tickets continue to be a tremendous value starting as low as $6. Visit HVRenegades.com for ticket information and so much more.
