
Brooklyn Rallies for 9-6 Win over Hudson Valley

CONEY ISLAND, NY - Behind 5-1 early, the Brooklyn Cyclones, the High-A affiliate of the New York Mets, rallied to beat the Hudson Valley Renegades 9-6 Friday night at Maimonides Park in front of 2,473 Brooklynites to snap a six-game skid.

With the bases loaded, score tied and two outs in the bottom of the sixth, Antoine Duplantis cleared the bases with a three-run double to left-center field to give Brooklyn a 9-6 lead. The Cyclones entered the inning, trailing 6-4 before Jose Peroza's sac fly and Zach Ashford's RBI single to left field tied the game.
Trailing 5-1 in the bottom of the third, Ronny Mauricio belted a two-run home run off of Hudson Valley starter Matt Sauer to pull Brooklyn within two.
Hudson Valley bolted out to a 5-1 lead over the first two innings, running Brooklyn starter J.T. Ginn from the game after just three innings. Back-to-back RBI triples from Austin Wells and Chad Bell capped the early rally in the second inning.

NEWS AND NOTES
Ronny Mauricio clubbed his career-best 15th home run of the season, setting a new single-season record for home runs by a Brooklyn Cyclones. Corey Vaughn hit 14 home runs in 2010.
The Cyclones snapped a six-game losing streak, beating the Renegades for just the sixth time in 22 tries.
Jaylen Palmer exited the game in the top of the second inning after crashing into the left-center field wall. Tanner Murphy, called up from Low-A St. Lucie earlier in the day, made his Brooklyn debut off the bench to fill in for Palmer in the outfield.
