Hudson Valley Renegades News Release

The timing of the fireworks were just right for the Hudson Valley Renegades as they beat the host Jersey Shore BlueClaws, 7-3, on the Fourth of July in Lakewood, NJ.

Brandon Lockridge homered to lead off the Hudson Valley second inning but Jhailyn Ortiz answered for Jersey Shore in the bottom of the inning -- his sixth against the Gades this season.

The Renegades regained the lead in the third on an Ezequiel Duran RBI single but the Claws took the lead, scoring twice in the bottom of the frame.

The Gades took the lead for good in the fifth on an RBI single by Lockridge and a two-run homer by Elijah Dunham.

Up 5-3 heading into the ninth, the Renegades tacked on two more courtesy of a single by Duran. The Hudson Valley second baseman drove in three for the game and has a team-high 31 RBIs for the season.

Shawn Semple earned his third win against no losses, allowing three runs, four hits, walking three, and striking out four in six innings. Nelson Alvarez pitched a scoreless seventh and Nick Ernst went the rest of the way for his third save of the year. Ethan Lindow took the loss (0-4).

The Renegades won four of six in this series and 16 or 24 overall against the BlueClaws. The two teams will meet once more -- at Dutchess Stadium in August.

The Gades return to the Hudson Valley to meet the Brooklyn Cyclones beginning Tuesday night.

Per the State of New York, the Renegades are now open at 100% capacity. Tickets continue to be a tremendous value starting as low as $6. Visit HVRenegades.com for ticket information and so much more.

Renegades are hosting an Independence Day Weekend Fireworks Spectacular on July 3rd. We will show the film National Treasure prior to the Fireworks. Visit HVRenegades.com for more info.
