Aberdeen, MD - The Hudson Valley Renegades improved to 11-5 overall after their 2-0 win against the IronBirds on Saturday night. In a contest that was scoreless through four innings, Hudson Valley jumped on top with two runs in the top of the fifth inning. Those would be the only runs to score as the Renegades put together their third shutout win of the season.

Making his first start of the season, Chris Pike went four innings with one walk, one strikeout and only one hit against him. He was followed by Bradley Wallace and Gerardo Reyes, who went five innings combined, with only two hits and seven total strikeouts.

Offensively, the Renegades scored two runs on eight hits in their third win in three days. Hunter Lockwood went 1-4, and drove in the only two runs of the game. He now leads the team in runs driven in with nine this season. Jace Conrad and Casey Gillaspie both finished with two base hits, as Jackson, Blanchard, Lockwood and Torres all chipped in with one.

Hudson Valley is now 6-0 this year against Aberdeen, taking the first two games of a three game series against their McNamara Division foe.

After sixteen games this season, the Renegades lead the New York-Penn League in overall team pitching. They lead the league in wins, innings pitched, and earned run average. After a Brooklyn loss, the Renegades and the Cyclones are now tied in first place of the McNamara Division.

Notes: Hudson Valley has now won three straight games for the third time this season. In three appearances this year, Chris Pike has yet to give up a run, with three hits in seven innings. Through thirteen games Coty Blanchard has a batting average of .340, good for fifth in the league. Hunter Lockwood is tied for fourth in the league in RBI's, after driving in his ninth on Saturday.

The Renegades will take on the IronBirds in game three of three on Sunday, with first pitch at 5:35 PM. Hudson Valley is back home on July 1st against the Cyclones at 7:05 PM.
