
Reliever Herndon Placed on Disabled List

Arkansas relief pitcher David Herndon has been placed on the seven-day disabled list with a right forearm strain, retroactive to June 12. Herndon (2-5) last pitched in the first game of Thursday's doubleheader against Northwest Arkansas, blowing a save opportunity by allowing a game-tying run in the bottom of the seventh inning and taking the loss after surrendering a walkoff home run to the Naturals' Jordan Parraz in the eighth.
Herndon has a 3.29 ERA in 21 appearances this season, earning eight saves in 12 chances with dramatic home-road splits. In 13.2 innings pitched at Dickey-Stephens Park, the righthander is 2-1 with two saves in three opportunities, posting an 11:1 strikeout-to-walk ratio and holding opposing hitters to a .191 batting average. Away from North Little Rock, Herndon has an 0-4 record and is 6-for-9 in save conversions, allowing a .328 batting average against with three strikeouts and three walks in 13.2 innings.
