Mother Nature reschedules kids clinic again

The Youth Baseball Clinic presented by CCF Brands, makers of the popular Chicken RingO's, and the Northwest Arkansas Naturals players and coaches has been rescheduled for SATURDAY, JULY 11th. Inclement weather in close range of Arvest Ballpark, including rain and severe thunderstorms is the cause for the postponement. The cancellation DOES NOT affect Sunday's 2:30 P.M. game against the Tulsa Drillers, nor any other games in this homestand.

On Saturday, July 11th, the annual Kids Clinic will occur from 12-2:30 P.M. at Arvest Ballpark. Parents will need to re-register their child, but will not need to fill out the form again if they have done so already, but will need to call and re-confirm if their child plans to attend the new date.

The clinic is open to children ages 6-12 and will cover instruction of key baseball fundamentals, including hitting, fielding, pitching, and baserunning. All participants will be given a complimentary general admission ticket good for any future Sunday Naturals' game during the remainder of the 2009 season, and the first 300 children to show up on the day of the clinic will also receive a free Chicken RingO's t-shirt.

A 30 minute autograph session with select Naturals players will follow the instruction portion of the clinic.

There is a form on the Naturals website, nwanaturals.com under the community menu, which interested parents can print, fill out, and then fax or mail in to register their children for the clinic. Youth baseball coaches may also fill out the form and fax in their roster to register entire teams for the clinic. The deadline to register is Thursday, July 9th, but participants are encouraged to sign up quickly, as last year's event filled to capacity prior to the deadline. Participation is limited to the first 500 children to sign up. Please call the main office at (479) 927-4900 for more information.

The Northwest Arkansas Naturals are the Double-A Texas League affiliate of the Kansas City Royals and play at state-of-the-art Arvest Ballpark, located in Springdale.
