March 13, 2016 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Ontario Reign News Release
Ontario, CA - The Ontario Reign, proud American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate of the Los Angeles Kings of the National Hockey League (NHL), visit the San Jose Barracuda tonight at 5:00 PT at SAP Center. Tonight is the 10th of 12 meetings between the two teams this season.
On The Road Again:
Including tonight, the Reign have played six of their last seven games on the road. After a five-game road trip through San Diego, Texas and San Antonio (4-1-0-0), the Reign briefly returned home to Citizens Business Bank Arena last night, suffering a 2-1 overtime loss against the San Diego Gulls. The Reign close a two-game series against the Barracuda on Wednesday at SAP Center.
Potential Playoff Matchup:
The Reign hold a 7-2-0-0 head-to-head record against the Barracuda and if the 2016 Calder Cup Playoffs started tonight, the Reign would meet the Barracuda in the first round in a best-of-five series. Forward Sean Backman leads the Reign and all skaters in the series with three goals and four assists for seven points. Qualification Rules
